A giant swallowtail seems to like our place. He (she?) has been visiting one bush in our yard in particular the past few days. Apparently, the lemon tree holds a special allure. Almost never stopping and in nearly constant motion with a high wing flap rate, capturing a photograph is hard. But I get lucky….

A wrecking crew demolishes a home on Orange Ave in Fairhope MAY 5th 2025. The home once belonged to Cammie East Cowan, who wrote for the Mobile Press and Register from 1979 until 2009 and was a lifelong friend of author Harper Lee. Cowan died in October of 2024.
