The Steaks at Char 32 Rock

When the prospect of a good steak enters our minds, Colleen and I wind up stopping in at Fairhope’s Char 32, the place we feel never disappoints. Known for its high quality beef, we consider Char 32 one of the best places you can go for a great steak. My choice is the ribeye ($42), which shows up grilled exactly as requested and is full of flavor.
The wedge salad that precedes the entree is delicious. Although she had originally planned on going for a steak, too, Colleen changes her mind when Todd, our server, mentions the snapper special ($46). She’s glad she takes the suggestion, calling the snapper wonderful. Todd does a good job of making sure we have what we need.
Owner Daneen Buck also stops by to check on us. The desserts here are great, but a post-meal treat is out of the question on this visit because we’re so stuffed. With two glasses of wine, our total without tip lands at $123.72.
This is one spot where reservations need to be made in advance; although it’s a Tuesday, the only reason we’re able to get in is because we have one. Whether for special occasions, date night or just a satisfying meal with good service, we find that Char 32 consistently impresses…
