Elks Hold Brunch Chowdown
Lots of bakin’, cookin’, scramblin’ and stirrin’ as members of Fairhope Elks Lodge 1879 hold a welcome-to-March brunch Sunday, MAR 1st.
The Lodge is blessed to have an outstanding food prep crew who turn out what’s described as an awesome meal. Hungry members show up to find two types of scrambled eggs (plus Benedict), bacon, sausage plus Conecuh, Gouda grits, breakfast casserole, pancakes ‘n’ syrup, made-from-scratch cinnamon rolls and hash brown casserole plus fruits, dessert, Mimosas, Bloody Marys and more.
If you left the place hungry, it’s your own fault. Lodge manager Karla Boyse calls turnout awesome and tells me the plan is to make brunch a regular event for members on the first Sunday of each month (except April when Brunch with the Easter Bunny takes place Saturday). My thanks to the breakfast crew for letting me catch a few scenes of Elks Lodge food masters at work!
