Final September Sunset
As October settles in, the drop in the number of hours of daylight becomes more obvious. By Halloween, the length of day will have shortened by almost one hour compared to the start of the month. Sunrise in Fairhope, which occurs at 6:45am on the first, moves to 7:05am by the 31st. Another big change hits only two days into November when Daylight Saving Time ends and Standard Time returns. Days will continue to become shorter until the Winter Solstice which falls on December 21st. And four days after that, or roughly twelve weeks from now, is Christmas!
