Cajun Convenience in Fairhope

π˜Ύπ™–π™Ÿπ™ͺ𝙣 π™˜π™€π™£π™«π™šπ™£π™žπ™šπ™£π™˜π™š π™¨π™©π™€π™§π™š 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙛𝙀𝙀𝙙 𝙩𝙧π™ͺπ™˜π™  π™˜π™€π™’π™žπ™£π™œ 𝙩𝙀 π™π™–π™žπ™§π™π™€π™₯π™š:

When the plan Perry Boyd and Barbara Edwards are working on comes together, you’ll be able to walk inside Southern Bayou Market, their new retail store, and pick up already prepared meals like shrimp etouffee or gumbo to take home. Most of the food will have a distinctively Cajun influence. And that’s no surprise, given that both grew up in Rolling Fork, MS, all of about ten miles from the Louisiana state line. With a roughly 25 year background in food service, Perry’s specialty is Cajun Southern. Growing up on a catfish farm, Perry has accumulated loads of awards and trophies from winning best gumbo, seafood and barbecue competitions.

Timelines:
Southern Bayou Market – Perry hopes it can open no later than mid JUN 2025
Rolling Fork food truck – Possibly as early as the weekend of APR 12th 2025

We catch up with Perry and Barbara at the site of their new place, which is Bay Break, a popular spot with a lot of history and that Fairhope residents hope can be preserved.
