A big change involving Carnival passenger ships that have been operating out of Mobile. Carnival Cruise Line has announced that year-round service out of Mobile will resume starting in the spring of 2027. Carnival Spirit has been sailing on a seasonal basis out of Mobile since 2023, carrying passengers from October until May. During spring and summer months, the ship has been relocating to Seattle where it operates cruises to Alaska. With a capacity of 2,100 passengers, Spirit is the largest cruise ship to sail out of Mobile and is one of only two remaining Spirit-class ships in Carnivalโ€™s fleet. Spirit is scheduled to sail out of Mobile for another two years. The company hasn’t announced what ship will serve Mobile after Spirit. The return to year-round service in Mobile will mark the first time a Carnival ship has sailed each month of the year out of the Alabama Cruise Terminal since before the COVID pandemic struck.

Currently located in the eastern Pacific off the western coast of Mexico, Spirit is heading for arrival tomorrow at Cabo San Lucas. The shipโ€™s next stop will be Monday when it arrives in Seattle to begin operating cruises to Alaska. Spirit will return to Mobile in October to take passengers on 6-, 7-, 8-, 14- and 16-day cruises to the Bahamas.
