Tianjin Is On The Short List

The container ship Tianjin leaves Mobile DEC 27th 2025

Tianjin, a container ship sailing under the flag of Liberia, heads out of Mobile Bay DEC 27th 2025 while starting a three day voyage to Houston. With a draught of more than 43 feet, the ship moves at 11 mph. With a length of 1,145 feet and width of 150 feet, Tianjin is not the biggest ship to ever visit the port of Mobile, but it’s on the short list. The Alabama State Port Authority says CMA CGM Libra, a container ship measuring 1,192 feet in length, is the largest such vessel ever to call on a U.S. Gulf port. According to ship manifests, Tianjin arrived carrying gasoline engines, plush toys, truck tires, wooden furniture, plastic boxes, safety glasses, wire belt guards, calculators and medium density fiberboard.
