OOCL Asia, a 1,059 foot by 140 foot container ship sailing under the flag of Hong Kong, passes Gaillard Island on its way into the port of Mobile Thursday afternoon. With a draught of 38 feet, the ship moves at 12 mph while finishing a day’s voyage from Houston. According to ship manifests, OOCL Asia’s cargo includes around 28 tons worth of antique and Victorian style beds, about 13 tons of wheel trim and tire repair kits and more than 10 tons of men’s and women’s snow boots plus Uno card games, shower doors, truck box lids, billiard tables, office desks, women’s shoes, gas grills, recumbent bicycles, air conditioners, electric balloon pumps and outdoor gas grills.
