Pinus Elliottii to the Max
Elm Arrow, a 643 foot by 106 foot general cargo ship sailing under the flag of Bahamas, heads out of Mobile the morning of AUG 31 2025, beginning a day’s trip to Port Arthur, TX. With a draught of 35 feet, the ship moves at 12 mph. According to ship manifests, Elm Arrow carries more than five million tons worth of pinus elliottii, also known as slash pine, which is used to produce lumber for construction of bridges, railroad ties and in creating paper pulp.
