Oui Oui Paris’ Fish ‘n Chips

The fish and chips at Oui Oui Paris in Fairhope are hard to beat. Served each Friday at lunch, the plate will set you back $23, but the haddock that owner Diane Cartmell serves is absolutely delicious. And there’s no shortchanging on food. During my visit MAR 20th 2026, I’m impressed at what a large piece of fish shows up in my basket. Diane says she’s very health conscious in preparing the meals she serves. Opting not to fry using conventional oils, she instead uses tallow.
The current economic times are not without challenge. Diane, who does all the cooking herself, says the cost she pays for haddock has tripled in just the last year. Lauren is my server, and does a very good job. I’d get this dish again in a flash. Oui Oui Paris has special hours on Friday: 12-3 and again from 5 ‘til 8. Although not part of Homestead Village, the place is located inside the front of the main Homestead Village building, at 924 Plantation Blvd.
If you check the Oui Oui Paris page on Facebook, you’ll see that Diane is taking reservations for Easter, offering a choice of baked ham or roast lamb entrees. Reservations with a deposit are required.
