OOCL Southampton, a 1,059 foot by 140 foot container ship sailing under the flag of Hong Kong, passes Gaillard Island on the way into the port of Mobile Friday morning. With a draught of 41 feet, the ship moves at 15 mph while finishing a trip from Houston. According to ship manifests, OOCL Southamptonβs cargo includes more than 36 tons of cookware, over 30 tons of valve parts and around sixteen tons worth of treadmills, plus bedroom furniture, stainless steel cups, tool bags, sofas, upright freezers, lounge chairs and cookie sheets.
