Zim Hong Kong in Mobile Bay

Zim Hong Kong arrives in Mobile JUL 12 2025Zim Hong Kong, a 1,104 foot by 150 foot container ship sailing under the flag of Germany, passes Gaillard Island on its way into the port of Mobile the morning of JUL 12 2025. Moving at 12 mph with a draught of 35 feet, the ship finishes a day’s trip from Houston. According to ship manifests, Zim Hong Kong carries about 22 tons of red kidney beans, around 23 tons of canned fruit juice, roughly 53 tons of sodium acetate (a chemical compound used as a food flavoring and preservative as well as to neutralize sulphuric acid in the textile industry), around 20 tons of aluminum window and doors and about 11 tons of upholstery fabrics plus wire rope slings and drilling machine parts.
