Maersk Taikung, a 1,089 foot by 141 foot container ship sailing under the flag of Hong Kong and configured to carry major hazard cargo, passes Gaillard Island on its way out of Mobile Bay early the morning of JUL 30 2025. With a draught of 40 feet, the ship moves at 12 mph while setting course for Cartagena, Colombia, with arrival expected AUG 05 2025. According to ship manifests, Maersk Taikung’s cargo includes more than 150 tons of hydrocarbon resins, around 111 tons worth of lintels for building doorways, around thirty tons of refrigerators, about 60 tons of artificial quartz slabs, 27 tons of lens wipes and around 1.25 tons of polyester knitted blankets plus office chairs, potty seats and tooti fruiti toothpaste for toddlers.
