Giving a Tiger a break
The City of Fairhope agrees to reduce the amount of money it’s to receive from The Blind Tiger, the restaurant which opened on the City pier last fall. At their meeting last night, council members vote to revise the amount of gross revenue to be paid from 3% to 1.5% due to the impact of the waterfront revitalization project underway at the pier park. The reduction takes effect for sales that began FEB 1st and lasts six months. “Their business has been disrupted quite a bit,” council member Jack Burrell said. Restaurant owner Thomas Genin says the limited parking caused by the project has been brutal to deal with. “It’s been the hardest thing we have ever tried to manage. Obviously, a total nightmare,” Genin says. “I would just like to sincerely thank all the people/customers for dealing with the challenges of getting to us.”
