City of Hamburg arrives in Mobile, Alabama, OCT 15th 2025

𝙏𝙬𝙤 𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙠𝙨 𝙖𝙩 𝙨𝙚𝙖 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙥𝙞𝙚𝙘𝙚𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙖𝙣 𝙖𝙞𝙧𝙥𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙚:

City of Hamburg, a 415 foot by 67 foot Ro-ro cargo ship sailing under the flag of France, passes Gaillard Island on the way into the port of Mobile the afternoon of OCT 15th 2025. With a draught of 16 feet, the ship moves at 17 mph while finishing a voyage that began OCT 1st from Montoir, France. City of Hamburg is one of the ships Airbus uses to bring pieces of new airplanes to the US where they are assembled, tested and delivered to customers. Ro-ro cargo ships get their name from the fact that cargo can be rolled on and off the vessel as opposed to being lifted by cranes. Photo shot from Orange St pier in Fairhope, about 6.5 miles away…
