Fairhope’s Giant Swallowtail
A giant swallowtail seems to like our place. He (she?) has been visiting one bush in our yard in particular the past few days. Apparently, the lemon tree holds a special allure. Almost never stopping and in nearly constant motion with a high wing flap rate, capturing a photograph is hard. But I get lucky. Female swallowtails, I learn from online research, like to lay their eggs on the leaves of citrus trees, especially when they have leafed out. So, now it’s starting to make sense.
Also learned from research:
“The Swallowtail butterfly symbolizes both spiritual growth and awakening. When you see a Swallowtail, it’s a message signifying that you’re on the correct path in your spiritual journey.”
