Elks Christmas 2025 Food Drive

It’s a busy week for members of the Fairhope Elks Lodge 1879. Over the weekend, the Elks’ annual food drive ramps up with food being brought to the Lodge and organized to help individuals and families in need. Today, members place food in boxes which will be delivered to various locations around the eastern shore. Volunteers say they prepared eighty boxes. The food drive is just one part of the Lodge’s efforts to share the spirit of Christmas with people who are less fortunate. Also active is the Elks’ annual Toys For Tots drive, with toys being distributed this week, as well.

If you’d like to help the Lodge in its efforts to bring gifts to people in need, members say gift cards are an excellent way to do it. A $25 Walmart-branded gift card is about the best card you could donate to the Lodge, according to a member of the Elks. That’s because gift cards charged through many banks incur various fees, while Walmart-branded cards do not.

The Elks is a private, benevolent organization whose members regularly launch projects to help people in need. The four cardinal virtues of the Elks are Charity, Justice, Brotherly Love and Fidelity.
