Cruising Returns to Mobile

The 959 foot passenger ship Carnival Spirit heads out of Mobile Bay the afternoon of OCT 28th 2025, marking the return of cruising from Mobile. The ship begins a five day cruise of the Western Caribbean with stops planned for Cozumel and Progreso, Mexico. Spirit docked in New Orleans Monday after concluding a sixteen day Panama Canal cruise that began in Seattle. The ship left New Orleans OCT 27th, arriving in Mobile before sunrise on the 28th.
As in previous years, Spirit will spend the next six months cruising out of Mobile, offering trips to the Bahamas and Western Caribbean before repositioning to Seattle in 2026 where it will cruise Alaska. Effective in the spring of 2027, Carnival Cruise Line says it will start year-round cruises out of Mobile aboard the Carnival Valor, a newer and larger ship capable of holding nearly 1,000 more passengers than Spirit.
Spirit’s current voyage ends with its return to Mobile Sunday. Photo shot from Magnolia Park in Fairhope, roughly 6.5 miles away…
