Coming: Southern Bayou Grill

Perry Boyd, who along with Barbara Edwards, tried unsuccessfully to open a Cajun convenience store on S Mobile St in Fairhope, says he has struck a deal to open the business elsewhere in the area.

Boyd says the Southern Bayou Grill will operate at 11950 Co. Rd 32, the site of what used to be Fish River Grill 32.

The location is just under two miles east of Hwy 181. Boyd hopes to open for business the week of JUN 23rd. The market will operate Tuesdays through Saturdays from 10:30 ‘til 8. People will be able to eat inside and outside, Boyd says.

The business will sell various Cajun seafood products including shrimp Étouffée, gumbo and poorboys. Boyd says he will place his food truck Rolling Fork at a different location.

Boyd’s original plan was to open the Southern Bayou Market by mid JUN at Fairhope’s old Bay Break building on S Mobile St, but ran into snags involving regulations.
